The church has a single rectangular hall plan covered with a roof and vaulted into the rectory. The wall is made by the almost exclusive use of brick.
The original facade includes the lower wall of hollow limestone and the portal with a bar arch from the mid-13th century]; the canopy, the stained glass window, the crowning and the bell tower are the result of numerous restorations under the direction of Peleo Bacci in the third decade of the twentieth century.
The interior, with a single nave, preserves widespread fresco decorations made by Cenni di Francesco di ser Cenni. Of great interest is the Madonna in Glory on the right wall of the loggia, the face of which is attributed to the young Simone Martini: the rest of the figure is instead due to a later restoration carried out by Cenni di Francesco in 1413.
