The Casa di Leda dates from the 2nd century BC. - 1st century AD
The house is so named after the representation of Leda and the swan on a wall of the triclinium - a large house with a colonnade with two orders placed one above the other. The floor of the ground floor was decorated with a single layer of white monochromatic mosaic that also extended to the colonnade
In this mosaic, which has unfortunately been greatly affected by time, you can see the astronomical instrument that Ptolemy, the astronomer who lived in the 2nd century, used to make the armillary sphere.
