The former Monte di Pietà , the Oratorio del Santissimo Sacramento and the Church of the Anime Sante del Purgatorio overlook the plain.
On the retaining wall of the floor in front of the Monte di Pietà are four stone statues of the patrons: the Blessed Giovanni Liccio, Santa Rosalia, San Nicasio Martire and San Teotista, works attributed to the sculptor Giuseppe Ponti from 1682.
In the center of the square is a stone column surmounted by a cross, known as the Pillory Pillar , to which non-heretic sinners were bound during the period of the Inquisition.
