The theater was cut into the hillside and unexpectedly came to light during excavations in 1953 .
It is probably from around the 4th century BC.
The theater is heavily eroded and can only be recognized as such with difficulty. The excavations were interrupted due to lack of funds and only resumed in 1958. Then the odeion was also discovered, which most likely also served as a council house. The theater faces east and offers spectators a beautiful view of the sea . The semi-circular grandstand consists of 23 stepped layers, each 38 cm high, and is divided into five sectors by four staircases.
The theater is located near a large square, to which it was connected by a staircase; it has about 2500 seats.
