The Church of S. Tommaso is a Gothic-Catalan style monument, probably built by the ancestors of the Marcanza family around 1450.
Compared to the other churches from before the 16th century it is the only one that did not fall into disrepair and miraculously escaped the reconstruction that affected almost all churches in Alcamo between the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th century .
The special architectural value lies in the beautiful spread portal , a perfect synthesis of the Swabian module with pointed arches ( portal of San Tommaso) and the Chiaramonte flavor, underlined by carvings , moldings and tiny ornaments. Above this is a small single-lancet window, inserted together with the portal into a short front part, bounded by long, slender columns. The decoration of the capitals is one with acanthus leaves and the other with wickerwork.
Since 1984 it has been home to the Rotary Club of Alcamo
