The Shrine of Contrada Mango dates back to the sixth century BC. It is located outside the walls of the old city and is only accessible by reservation . Its excavations are still in the early stages.
There must have been several buildings with capitals and columns . The first excavations were carried out in an area of considerable size (approximately 83 × 48 m). Traces have already been found of a large wall consisting of imposing travertine blocks that enclose two "solemn" buildings, certainly intended for worship.
Among the finds of significant archaeological interest there is the discovery of a stone slab with an incised portal tapering upwards, with an "Egyptian throat" architrave: a clear reference to oriental decoration that supports the Tucidid position on its Middle Ages origins -Eastern regions of the Elimi confirms.
