Museo Archeologico Regionale "A. Salinas" - Palermo

Housed in the former Monastery of the Filippini Fathers , the building was structured around three courtyards , two of which are still intact, and loggias and private chapels that opened inwards.

It has one of Italy's richest archaeological collections and evidence of Sicilian history in all its phases, ranging from prehistory to the Middle Ages

Among the numerous objects on display are particularly interesting : the precious 'Stone of Palermo', a hieroglyphic text from 2900 BC. The 'Metopes' from the temples of Selinunte; gutters with lion heads; finds from the Etruscan civilization from Chiusi; the Ram , a bronze statue from the 3rd century BC; the bronze group of 'Hercules killing a deer', a Roman work from Pompeii, etc.
