In Palermo, a city that surprises even the most apathetic, there are monuments that you don't know who will take care of. And it also happens that these places are deserted for endless periods of time.
It is therefore no wonder if you find a seventeenth-century church in the Kalsa district, almost completely collapsed, bought by a private individual, not to return it to worship, but to give the people back a place for art .
This is what happens to the Church of the Madonna del Loreto, in Via dei Credenzieri , itself a street rich in history.
The Credenzieri enjoyed the full confidence of the nobles with whom they served. In fact, they were the ones who had to taste the food intended for their masters to make sure it was n't poisoned .
Information about the construction of the church is still being discovered. So far it is known that in 1624 the faithful founded a Religious Union, which was called the Lord's Supper, and that around 1704 they built a church that, despite bombardments and numerous lootings, has survived to this day.
