The monastery, which borders the Chiesa di San Giovanni degli Eremiti and is embellished with a lush garden, is the best preserved part of the primitive monastery.
The double columns with acanthus leaf capitals supporting double-ringed pointed arches are striking for their beauty and lightness. There is also an Arabian reservoir.
Since July 3, 2015, it is part of the World Heritage Site (UNESCO) in the "Arab-Norman Route of Palermo, Cefalù and Monreale".
