Piazza Baldi Centelles leads via a convenient staircase to that part of the former castle of Zabut that formed the fortified acropolis .
In the second half of the 19th century, the remaining structures were demolished and a large terrace was constructed to celebrate the Good Friday crucifixion. This was called Calvary .
However, the 'Calvary' was only used for this purpose for a short time. Immediately after the First World War, the Dead Christ was celebrated in the mother church. The Calvary was baptized the 'Belvedere' . Here one can admire a beautiful panorama that reaches from the Sambucese country to the Swabian country of Giuliana di Caltafellotta di Chiusa Sclafani, with the Rose Mountains and the inner chain of the Sicani Mountains in the background.
