Behind Palazzo Pannitteri lies the old city of Islamic origin.
The Saracen alleys, also called the " 7 Fridays ", are a maze of narrow streets and dead ends that lead you to an Arabic dimension . The district is located at the top of the city and resembles a real Arab Kasbah .
While walking you can admire several examples of street art that make it even more evocative, as well as courtyards, majolica stairs and balconies with lush plants.
This is the thousand-year-old soul of Sambuca di Sicilia that stretches from Piazza Navarro to Largo San Michele to the Belvedere . The Emir Al Zabut , founder of the city, originally created the district, which has now become a living museum of Sicilian-Arab history .
“From door to door: the thousand colors of the Saracen Quarter ” is the street art project where artists created artistic works on walls and doors of the characteristic Arab quarter.
