The current church of Santa Lucia already existed in 1615 under the name St. Leonardo.
In that year the Carmelite brothers left the adjacent St. Elias Monastery , and therefore also the church, and moved to the Carmelite Monastery.
In light of these facts, its origin must be dated to the period before the reform of the Carmelite Order, and in any case not later than the end of the 15th century, also referring to the fact that it was common among the Carmelites until that time to dedicate their monasteries to the great Biblical prophet.
