Vermenagna Ring (Adv)

The “Anello del Vermenagna” represents a fundamental “spine” connecting the lower valley to the cross-border Alpine ridge. Through this route, it is possible to reach France or connect to the former military road “Limone-Monesi” via the Colle di Tenda, Colle della Perla, Passo della Boaria, or through the adjacent municipalities. The Vermenagna Valley has significant tourist and hiking potential, especially considering its geographical location and its position between the two Protected Areas of the Maritime Alps and the Mercantour National Park in France. The route also has interregional connectivity value as it links the trails of the lower Vermenagna Valley, or adjacent valleys, with the GTA and can also serve as a valid alternative to it, especially in case of snow at high altitudes or lack of managed accommodation facilities. On a local scale, the itinerary serves as a connection between the upper and lower valley, as well as the adjacent valleys, and promotes the interchanging of train-car/camper-bike and cycling. The entire Anello del Vermenagna can be traversed by mountain bike, and in the winter season, it is possible to traverse it completely with snowshoes.
