Chivasso - Casalborgone - Vezzolano

Connecting itinerary that starts from the Duomo of Chivasso (15th century) and, after crossing the Po at the Natural Reserve of the Confluence with the streams Orco and Malone, climbs the hilly slope near Castagneto Po with suggestive landscape glimpses of the plain, the Vaj Woods, and the scenic Fraction of Villa di San Sebastiano da Po. One then descends to Casalborgone, passing through the characteristic "Leu" (which means "place"), whose oldest structures date back to the 11th century. The castle, with its mass positioned on a high hill base and supported by retaining walls, was built on the remains of the Radicati Tower, which dominated the area from the 13th century to the mid-16th century. Then one climbs back towards Berzano San Pietro and, after passing through the town center, continues along the wooded slope of Cascina Vasco, quickly reaching the Abbey of St. Mary of Vezzolano and the interconnection with the ridge itinerary Superga - Vezzolano - Crea.
