The proposed itinerary is rich in symbols of local devotion and countryside churches. Most of the white roads traversed bear witness to the intensity of foot travel up to a century ago, and the itinerary aims to propose the routes of movement between various valleys, in the presence of well-known and lesser-known places of worship since the Middle Ages (San Genesio, Santa Maria di Vezzolano, S. Siro, etc.). These are certainly historical routes that have been used for transportation and trade, and locally, for agricultural and forestry activities since time immemorial, without any known transit bans, interruptions of ownership, fences, or anything else. There is various historical documentation regarding the presence of religious paths that recount the trade and pilgrimages to and from San Genesio and Vezzolano.
