This walk in Cinque Terra is one of the most beautiful hikes I have ever done.

If you have to choose to take only one direction of the trail, I recommend this direction.

This is because you are rewarded at the end with an unforgettable view of the beautiful harbor town of Vernazza, one of the five in Cinque Terra.

Of course, the path is beautiful in both directions.

You can easily take the train back from Vernazza to Monterosso.

You need to buy a ticket (10 euros in 2026) to cover the route, but it is well worth it.

Almost halfway there is a small café with a stunning viewpoint. But be sure to bring enough water!

Although it is not a long route, the steep stairs and narrow paths make it quite challenging. Allow yourself a little over two hours to complete the route if you want to enjoy the beautiful views of the cliff coasts along the way.
