Tafi-SAN BARONTO route by StepH

The village of San Baronto is located on a hill of 375 meters in height and is a sacred place for the Tuscan cyclist and bike tourists! In 2006, Andrea Tafi was present at the inauguration of a monument in honor of the ciclisti. You can find it at the beginning of the descent towards Casalguidi on your left. San Baronto has already been climbed during the Giro, in March 2010 during the Tirreno-Adriatico, but also thousands of times by youth races and bike tourists! 1. We start at Borghetto Andrea Tafi and cycle to and through Lamporecchio towards Mastromarco. 2. Today, you will climb San Baronto first from Vinci, the birthplace of the great Leonardo, a gentle ascent that the better ones can master with the 'big mill.' 3. At the bar in San Baronto (get refreshed!), we turn right down towards Pistoia, past the monument. Enjoy the descent. 4. Because here comes the steep climb to Montevettolini! 5. Via a beautiful secondary road, we return to the center of Lamporecchio. At the traffic light, turn left to a new ascent of San Baronto, but now from the steeper side... so the racing side! 6. Descent back to Vinci along the same path we rode up earlier, a magnificent and quiet descent! 7. From Vinci back to Lamporecchio.
