Pelago CROCE Ai MORI route

The Croce ai Mori (Cross for the Moors) is a summit that stands just over 1000 m high and is the destination of this route.

First, we climb the inevitable Passo di Consuma (1068 m) and descend to Pratovecchio. Don’t forget to admire the Castello di Romeno on the right side! Especially in foggy weather, the castle rises majestically above the valley, which includes Arezzo – definitely a beautiful tourist scene!

You continue descending towards Pratovecchio (exactly alpine meadows!) and cross below the Arno, a modest little river, much closer to its source than in Pontassieve and Florence further downstream...

We turn left towards Stia and almost immediately begin the gentle ascent to the Croce a Mori. The gentle (long) descent to Londa is a free bonus!

Excuse me, I briefly follow the main road to Pontassieve, but in Scopeti we already turn left for the Pomino ascent, and that is a gem... for those who enjoy climbing vigorously. Let yourself be surprised; those who can accelerate the last kilometers before Borselli are true mountaineers!

Glide down the (half) Consuma from Borselli and reach your maximum speed here! However, be careful!
