The Rham Plateau in Luxembourg is surrounded by the Alzette on three sides. It was already inhabited early on. Since the construction of the third ring wall in the 15th century, it has been integrated into the fortress of Luxembourg.
Under French rule, Vauban had five military barracks built here at the end of the 17th century. Since the end of the 19th century, social facilities have been housed in these buildings. For several years now, the Rham Plateau has served as a retirement home.
