We did this beautiful local walk W8 on March 10, 2022. Normally, the starting point is at the 'Heringer Millen', but we decided to start from a small parking lot in the village of 'Christnach'. The path is marked on one side and runs counterclockwise. At Camping Cascade, there is a detour, so you cannot reach the 'Heringer Millen' parking lot via the actual hiking trail. Those who park there can simply follow this altered route and return along the same access road.

Starting from 'Christnach', you will have the first 3 km on asphalted ground under your feet. Not bad, as there is a nice view of the Vleet. We don’t know where to look first. What comes next cannot be described in words. The photos tell you everything, but in reality, it is even more beautiful.

Are you going in winter to rain and snow? Then be extremely careful on the rocks. The possibility of a slip is real.

After a slight ascent through the forest, the path leads over the landscape of the open plateau and along the golf course to the village of Christnach, which is considered a model village due to its well-preserved village architecture. Through wide fields and hills, the path eventually leads into the forest and the wild romantic valley of the Schwarzen Ernz. Also along the river, at the end of the walk, you reach the romantic Schiessentümpel with the old stone bridge.
