Septfontaines: Habscht 6

Habscht 6 (Hobscheid Walk 6)

We did this beautiful round trip on 06.12.2022. It is well marked on 2 sides with these markings . We walked them clockwise.

The village of Septfontaines or Siebenbrunnen, which is well worth seeing, is located in the Eisch Valley. As the name suggests, Seven Springs Spring. There is also a castle ( eleventh century). (The castle is privately owned and should not be visited) At the foot of the castle are the seven wells (springs) from which the village owes its name.

Parking is available at the church of Septfontaines . A very short access road leads to the loop, where you can choose the direction of walking. Along the fields and small wooded areas you first reach the village of Greisch. In Greisch we pass the beautiful church of Saint-Maximin , which unfortunately has been closed. From here we descend into the Leesbech valley . We go up through woods and fields until we see the village of Roodt-sur-Eisch and follow a steep descent on a paved road. Roodt-sur-Eisch is also located in the Eisch Valley. From Roodt to the starting point there is almost no difference in altitude.

The hike also passes the Simmerschmelz campsite . We were there a long time ago. Nice campsite. Your FB page.
