We did this walk on 02.05.2023, we walked them counterclockwise. The route is very well signposted on two sides.

It really is an XXX WOW walk!!! We enjoyed the first to last second.

A few comments;
- Do not do them with children who are too small (too dangerous)!
- Good shoes and hiking poles are not an unnecessary luxury.
- Due to the clay soil, it is a bit slippery on the trails in wet weather. In the beautiful Donwerbach valley you have to cross the stream regularly over diving boards, there are no bridges.

High above the Donverbach, the steep limestone cliffs of the Palmberg Tower rise into the sky. The trail winds upwards along narrow and earthy paths. Once there, you will be amazed by the view of the wine village of Ahn and the Moselle valley. Every year in spring, nature lovers flock to the Palmberg to admire the variety of orchids in the meadows and the unique boxwood population. Some boxwood is almost 300 years old. From the white cross, a narrow path leads down through the incomparable boxwood. At the beginning of summer, you can discover the first orchids, especially the purple orchid, which can reach a height of 80 centimeters. In the narrow Donverbach gorge, you seem to have landed in the jungle. Dim light penetrates into the humid air. The stream has to be crossed several times on stones in the stream bed, sometimes uphill, sometimes downhill, the path leads to thick rocks and rocks. Past rubble slopes and numerous waterfalls, the scenario is reminiscent of a raging mountain stream. The narrow path leads through the gorge in countless curves.

Itinerary

From the banks of the Moselle in Ahn you first climb steeply along the vineyards in an extraordinary nature reserve with rare flora and along beautiful rock structures with limestone cliffs with steep shells. After crossing forests and meadows on the high plateau, there is a descent through a unique boxwood in Luxembourg, before crossing the Donverbach valley and giving you the feeling of having landed in the jungle.
