Harlange (Luxembourgish: Harel, german: Harlingen) is a village in the commune of Lac de la Haute-Sûre in western Luxembourg. Harlange has a population of 480 inhabitants (2012).
History
On the Ferraris map from the 1770s, the village is depicted as Harling . At the end of the Ancien Régime , Harlange became a municipality. In 1823, as part of a major municipal restructuring in Luxembourg, many small municipalities were merged and the neighbouring municipality of Tarchamps was merged with the hamlet of Watrange in Harlange.
In 1979 , the municipality of Harlange merged with Mecher to form the new municipality of Lac de la Haute-Sûre, named after the reservoir of the same name.
