SONLEZ
The bell tower of the Chapel of Saint-Nicolas de Sonlez is the only Baroque bell tower in Luxembourg with a step roof. Some elements of the Baroque altar suggest that Jean-Georges Scholtus or one of his students did this. The old grave crosses of historical interest are located along the church wall and the cemetery wall.

In 1641, Anna-Maria von Breyderbach states that her cousin Katharina von der Heyden has loaned her 133 thalers, and that she has additionally pawned 4 sesters of rye from the Soller Mill. 112 years later, in 1753, Louis, Baron and Anna-Claudia von Steinbach, married couple, declare that Charles de la Haye, official of the County of Wiltz, representing the heirs of Anna-Maria von Breyderbach, has lifted the pledge of 4 sesters of rye from the Soller Mill. This pledge was inherited by the former from their great-grandmother Katharina von der Heyden. In 1766, François Poncin is mentioned as the miller. In the 1824 land registry, François Poncin is listed as the miller of the Soller Mill. Probably alterations were made around the mid-19th century, as the front door bears the year 1853 and the mill door the year 1856. Around 1878, the couple Alexis (Alexander) Lanners and Barbara Franck are the owners of the Soller Mill. They later purchase the Bannmühle from Syr around 1890. A quarter-century later, in 1904, François Roth is the owner of the mill. The name Roth is on the mill until the 1930s of the previous (20th) century. A daughter, Marie-Suzanne Roth, inherits Jacques-Joseph Martin. The couple remains at the mill. The waterwheel has been operational again since 1936. In 1945, milling operations are ceased. Marie-Suzanne Roth dies in 1953. Her husband then leaves and lives in the Belgian Givroulle, where he dies in 1963. Their son Jacques-François-Ernest Martin inherits Lydie Duchêne from Soller. Both reside in Givroulle. In 1965, they auction the mill with an apartment, various fields, and meadows. The mill buildings, some gardens, and meadows are purchased by the couple Bernard-Vianney Ryelandt and Baroness Myriam Greindl from Belgium for a total price of 831,000 francs. Bernard Ryelandt is an official of the European Economic Community in Brussels. The Ryelandt family uses the building as a holiday home.
