Forest Museum

In the barn – dry-house of Ķirbiži manor complex built in the 18th -19th century since 1989 operates the Forest museum which is the only forest museum in Northern Latvia. In its four halls the visitors can get acquainted with the values of flora and fauna of surrounding forests - protected plants, hunting trophies, stuffed animals and birds, and with forest management tools. The exhibition displays also the materials on the history of Latvian forestry schools, administrative history of eastern coastal forests of the Gulf of Riga and forest workers from 1921 onwards. There are exhibited also the horse traction vehicles.
