Briede, Latvia

If you would like to enjoy interesting paddling with small obstructions, consistently good stream, realistic, but nice views, then the Briede is the right choice! The route begins at the bridge of road V166. Finish of the paddling along the Briede is at the last bridge before the estuary in the Burtnieks, but it is not easily accessible, so it is better to paddle into the Burtnieks and by turning to the right, take further 600 m up to Burtnieks boathouse.
Although the Briede flows into the Burtnieks in its south-west corner and here is mostly leeward, before going into the open waters of lake please assess the popple of the lake and your boat’s ability to resist it!
