This emblematic park is the center of the Roma neighboorhoud, an area of urban expansion in the early 20th century.
In order to imitate European sophistication, a double row of trees imitated Parisian avenues , corners of 45 degrees facilitated the passage of carriages, land plots allowed for big gardens and public parks. At the center of this park, the simple original fountain was replaced by a bronze replica of the sculpture of David by Michelangelo.
The mexican city street names were given by the famous circus owner Orrin, one of the largest shareholders in the estate company that developed the area. They include all the cities that were toured by the circus.
