In the old house where the most famous artistic couple of Mexico lived, Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) and Diego Rivera, you now see works of Duchamp, Klee, Orozco and others. But it is above all the work on the disturbing and traumatic life of Frida that attracts the attention of visitors. Through the paintings, you get a better understanding of the sufferings caused by polio, by her accident at age 18 and her husband's infidelities. Although the uniqueness of his work has been questioned by some, Frida knew how to attract attention, and she is the only twentieth-century Mexican painter with a place in the famous Louvre museum. Kahlo's fame spread even further with a film in 2002. Beyond the artistic value, the attractiveness of the "Blue House" consists of utensils, jewelry, clothing, documents, in the impressive collection of votive offerings and other elements of daily life of the couple, especially in the dining room, kitchen and bedroom.
