Enkhuizen, the famous Zuiderzee city with its glorious past, is usually visited for its city beauty. The city is best viewed on foot. A 6 kilometer long signposted hiking trail takes you past all the beautiful places. There are historic warehouses, harbours with yachts, eel fishermen, the Zuider- or Sint-Pancraskerk from 1445 with a yellow lacquered tower and the Zuiderzee museum one of the most beautiful open-air museums in Europe.
