Description

This is the Drecht, a natural drainage river in the peat bog, to which Loos-drecht owes its name. The map shows that the Drecht was an unbroken river before the creation of the lakes. It was a drainage river in the swampy peat area that flowed from Loosdrecht to the Vecht.

Even before you reach the open plain of the lakes, you will pass Het Drechthuis of the Mijnden recreation centre. Here you can relax and enjoy something delicious on the beautiful terrace by the water.
