The Heeresloot is a canal in the province of Friesland that starts in Heerenveen and runs in a northerly direction to Vegelinsoord.
The Heeresloot was dug in 1555 by order of Pieter van Dekema, one of the lords of the peat, for the transport of peat. In an easterly direction, the digging of the Schoterlandse Compagnonsvaart began. Both channels are now no longer connected to each other. This is where the Kolk is now located. The Hoofdbrug used to be located over it, but it has been replaced by a canopy.
