The Westerbouwing was a tavern in the municipality of Renkum located on the southern tip of the Veluwe on a high moraine between Heveadorp and Oosterbeek with a view over the Lower Rhine, the Betuwe, Driel, the Driel weir and lock complex and the Drielse Veer. Looking to the east, Arnhem and Elst are clearly visible and on the horizon to the south is Nijmegen. The restaurant has been owned by Buitenpoort Catering since 2004 and is used as an event center for receptions, parties and celebrations; however, the land belongs to the municipality of Renkum and is freely accessible. All the old playground facilities later disappeared.
