The Follega mill is a post mill built in 1857 in the Frisian Follega. The mill was completely renovated in 1969 to grind the mill pond of the watermill of Laag-Keppel. Due to the canalization of the Old IJssel, the fall had become too small for the watermill to operate, and artificially lowering the level in the mill pond by about 1.5 m was a way to make the watermill operable again without moving it. The Follega mill is unique because it is the only windmill used to make a watermill turn. However, the mill is too small to allow the Laag-Keppel watermill to function optimally.
