De Vrijheid is a flour mill on the Molendijk just outside Beesd in the Dutch municipality of Geldermalsen. In 1826 the mill was sold to the miller Fransiscus Moot, who had a plaque bricked in. Since the 14th century, there had been a forced mill on the site of De Vrijheid, which was part of the Mariënweerd Abbey. The exact year of construction of the current mill is unknown, but it dates back to the 18th century. During the Second World War, the mill was used to signal the resistance. During the restoration in 1968, the hitherto nameless mill was given its current name "De Vrijheid" (The Freedom) as a reminder of this. The mill is equipped with 1 pair of grinding stones.
