The Tree Nursery Museum aims to carefully preserve the Cultural Heritage of the Boskoop Floriculture Region. This includes material heritage: the cultivation, the land, the objects related to the tree nursery, the monuments, the landscape. It also includes intangible heritage: the way of thinking, the traditions, the associated customs, stories and customs. This gives the current generation a good picture of the past and contributes to its cultural identity.
The museum consists of an inner and an outdoor part. In the inner part there are two exhibition spaces: one for the permanent exhibition and one for the temporary exhibitions. The permanent exhibition shows the development of the tree nursery from the Middle Ages to the present day. The temporary exhibitions are always green related. Once a year the Historical Society Boskoop exhibits. In the outside part you will find the nursery's house, the museum nursery, the shed, the roof and the yard.
The Tree Nursery Museum has had the status of a registered museum since 11 February 2004.
The area of Boskoop and its surroundings has had a special place in the agricultural and arboriculture sector since the late Middle Ages: the 'Sierteeltregio Boskoop e.o.' is therefore also a heritage that looks like a culture from earlier times.
It is a material heritage: the cultivation, the soils, the objects related to the tree nursery, the monuments, the landscape. It is also an intangible heritage: the way of thinking, the traditions, the associated customs, stories and customs. A heritage is important because it gives the current generation a picture of the past and because it can contribute to cultural identity.
The Cultural Heritage Floriculture Region Boskoop wants to guard the Tree Nursery Museum: "We owe our breeders' centre Boskoop to our ancestors the Entmans. Let us carefully preserve their Heritage."
