The originally Roman Catholic and later Dutch Reformed church in the Keizerstraat was built in Gothic style between 1450 and 1499. It may be remarkable that the church is located on the outskirts of the village and not, as usual, in the center of it, but this is due to the All Saints' Flood of 1570 that wiped out a large part of the village and made many victims.
Since the construction of the "Nieuwe Kerk" in the Duinstraat, the church in the Keizerstraat has been called the "Oude Kerk".
