The motte Wijnandsrade was a medieval motte castle located near Wijnandsrade in the municipality of Beekdaelen in the Dutch province of Limburg. The hill is now six meters high and is surrounded by the castle moat. The motte is located behind Wijnandsrade Castle and is sandwiched by this castle and the Stephen's Church of Wijnandsrade. The original castle stood on this artificial hill, probably a weather tower. The hill was built in the 12th or 13th century, but was probably abandoned when its defensive function was lost due to the invention of gunpowder. No remains of these buildings have been preserved, but the motte is under monument protection. There would still be foundations in the hill.
