The Wippe is a former grain mill in Hellendoorn in the Dutch province of Overijssel. In total, there have been 8 mills in Hellendoorn. Two can still be admired in their full glory today.
The mill was built in 1821. It operated on wind power until 1937. That year, the interior of the mill was removed, and silos were constructed for the milling business. The miller family Fakkert owned the mill from 1925 to 1997, which explains the mill's second name. The Wippe is named after the so-called Wippenbelt on which the mill was built. Between 1998 and 2001, the mill was restored, and a general practice was established at De Wippe. Previously, the Public Observatory Hellendoorn was located in the mill.
