The Cornflower dates from 1909. In 1835 a standerdmolen of the same name was built here, which previously stood on the Goudberg in Strijbeek. This centuries-old mill burned down in 1909. In the same year, the current mountain grist mill was built by order of owner P. Soffers. After standing still for a number of years, the mill was able to be put back into use in 1977, thanks to an active municipal subsidy policy, after a major restoration. In 1998, a foundation was established that is committed to the preservation of this monument. The mound or mountain on which the mill is built is the highest in the Netherlands.
