The Engels Werk is a park that was built around 1828 near the Dutch city of Zwolle. On former fortifications, a design in romantic English landscape style was realized by probably Hendrik van Lunteren. The walking park is located southwest of the city in the hamlet of Spoolde, directly behind the Katerveerdijk, the winter dike of the river IJssel. The English Work is a national monument because of its status as a former fortification.
