In 1908, it was decided to construct an annex church for the St. Dominic's Church. The architect was Albert Margry, who was assisted by his partner Jos Snickers. Margry also designed the nearby rectory. Preparatory work started in January 1909, after which the first stone was laid on March 26 of that year. The church could already be consecrated on December 31, 1909. The church was officially consecrated on April 25, 1910. On November 15, 1922, the new parish of St. Joseph was established, and the church continued independently.
