On the Langeraarse Plassen, on the Leidse Vaart is the mill of the Noordeind- and Geerpolder. The windmill, of the octagonal ground sailer type, was built in 1790 and dismantled in 1929.
In 1892, the lower parts of the Noordeind and Geer polders in the east were dammed off the polders. The polders were drained by a small paddlewheel mill, which opened onto the Noordeindsche Plas.
In 1929 the mill was dismantled and the parts, such as those of the hood, ash and rods were used for the construction of the Veendermolen in Roelofarendsveen. The mill was replaced by an electric pumping station and the remaining mill stump was converted into a home.
After the last of the 3 generations of millers Mank, Hendrik (Lange Hein) Kraan moved into the mill and lived there with his wife Trijntje Overdevest and their four daughters. The mill was soon known as 'the mill of Crane'.
