The architects Le Corbusier and Yannis Xenakis designed a very distinctive building at Expo 58, 'Le Poème Électronique', or the Philips Pavilion. It featured a presentation that depicted the development of humanity. Le Corbusier designed the 'Objet Mathématique', which serves as a beacon for the entrance. After the world exhibition, the Philips Pavilion was dismantled. The 'Object Mathématique', the only part that remains of the pavilion, was housed for many years at Philips Lighting in Eindhoven. The Technical University of Eindhoven restored it.
