Resting point Farm De Oostermaet

A Rest Point offers the possibility of a short stop with coffee, tea or lemonade with some goodies, with residents in the outskirts of Salland. The Rest Points are clearly marked by means of a Rest Point sign and opened when the sign is actually 'open' on it.

Located in the middle of the Oostermaet estate is this beautiful farm of Stichting IJssellandschap. Around 1910, Mr. Abraham Capadose bought the Oostermaet to turn it into a hunting ground. He planted thousands of rhododendrons to provide more shelter for the wildlife.
In the flowering period of May and June, these shrubs, sometimes up to five meters high, offer a beautiful sight.
In 2008, the farm will be repurposed, with the Rustpunt receiving much more prominent attention at this location.
