A Rest Point offers the possibility of a short stop with coffee, tea or lemonade with some goodies, with residents in the outskirts of Salland. The Rest Points are clearly marked by means of a Rest Point sign and opened when the sign is actually 'open' on it.
This beautiful still working grist mill dates from 1856.It has always been in operation. Before the war, the mill was actually in need of restoration, and was ground with an engine. During the war there was a shortage of energy and in 1942 the mill was running again.
So-called 'Ten Have' brake valves were then set up. The purpose of this was to be able to grind with very little wind. Badly battered by a bombardment, of which the 'stains' in the mill hull are still silent witnesses.
In the mid-50s, engine power prevailed over the wind and the mill fell into disrepair. The first restoration dates from 1965, after which the mill could run again, without grinding.
At the bottom of the mill is a beautiful Deutz crude oil engine from 1930. This engine has been completely restored by miller Tonnie Moes himself.
After a thorough restoration in '89-'90, Moes was able to light the catch again in 1990.
The mill is in full operation and grinds wheat, rye, corn, spelt and buckwheat, from which artisanal bread mixes are made, for sale in the shop at the bottom of the mill.
Depending on the season, fresh fruit juice from our own garden, jams and honey are for sale.
