The water extraction area Sint Jansklooster includes two different landscape types: the Kraggen area and the area on a terminal moraine, the Hoge Land. The distinctive water tower in the vicinity indicates where these two landscapes merge. In the water extraction area, forests, shrubs, and open terrain create a varied landscape. Oak forests are interspersed with plots of beech, acacia, and the almost vanished lime tree from the Dutch landscape. Covering an area of 55 hectares, it is one of the larger water extraction areas of Vitens in Overijssel.
