L'area di captazione d'acqua di Sint Jansklooster comprende due tipi di paesaggio diversi: l'area di Kraggen e l'area su un crinale morenico, la Terra Alta. Il caratteristico serbatoio d'acqua della zona indica dove questi due paesaggi si fondono. Nell'area di captazione d'acqua, boschi, cespugli e terreni aperti creano un paesaggio variegato. Le foreste di querce si alternano a parcelle di faggi, acacia e la quasi scomparsa dal paesaggio olandese tigli. Con un'estensione di 55 ettari, l'area è una delle più grandi aree di captazione d'acqua di Vitens in Overijssel.
