Keppel Castle is a castle in the Dutch province of Gelderland. The castle is located on an island between two branches of the Oude IJssel. On the foundations, the current building was rebuilt in the 17th century. A castle was built around the medieval keep, which will not have changed much until the 16th century. Between 1582 and 1609 the castle fell into ruin and was rebuilt in 1609. In 1612, the city architect Willem van Bommel from Emmerich was commissioned to completely rebuild the castle. He used demolition material from the walls that still exist. After 1614, the impressive Renaissance gable was placed against the side walls of the gate. This work was completed around 1620. Between 1743 and 1750, the complex was extended at the rear by master builder Gerrit Ravenschot from Zutphen, who had already made the design for it in 1729. In 1780 the gatehouse was radically altered. Finally, in 1850, the rear, the IJssel wing and the hall wing were connected, with which the construction was finally completed.
