Our wine estate covers two hectares, of which more than one and a half hectares are equipped for viticulture. Most of the grapevines were planted between 1998 and 2000 and are in full production. We planted another 1100 new vines in 2008 and 2009.
In the vineyard you can find 8 different grape varieties, 4 white varieties (Johanitter, Solaris, Bianca and Palatina) and 4 blue varieties (Regent, Rondo, Cabernet Cortis and Cabernet Cantor). All breeds are so-called "new" breeds. The main characteristics of the new varieties compared to the traditional varieties are a high tolerance of mould and faster ripening, i.e. they ripen well with less sun. It is these "new" varieties that make professional viticulture in the Netherlands possible.
