The Peel-Raamstelling runs from the Meuse near Grave, along the river Raam, to the Belgian border at Budel-Dorplein and originally had a total of 331 casemates, in 3 variants. The Peel-Raamstelling, built between 1939 and 1940, is also largely located on Venray's territory and was included on the National Monument List in 1995. Under the protection of the Monuments Act on the territory of Venray: the Peel Canal/Defence Canal (anti-tank ditch), 5 weirs/distribution works, 30 casemates, and the earthen wall along the Peel Canal/Defence Canal
